What is the purpose of the Fellowship?
The Fellowship educates participants on various aspects of alternative investments and strengthens them to compete for positions in this highly competitive industry at the end of their two-year analyst programs. The program also sharpens Fellows’ relevant skills for their current analyst roles.
Who should apply?
Pre-MBA professionals from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in alternative investments (i.e., Blacks, Latinos, Native Americans and Asian women) who are in the first or second year of an analyst program at a bulge bracket or boutique investment bank. Preferred analysts include those in traditional i-banking industry coverage groups, M&A, TMT, Financial Sponsors and FIG. The program is open to SEO alumni and non-alumni.

1ST-YEAR ANALYSTS (Starting Full-Time 2017): Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 P.M.
No exceptions will be made for late applications. Application must include:
– SAT or ACT score report (unofficial copy will be accepted with application. Your official score report must be submitted at the time of your interview.)
– Undergraduate transcript
– Recent resume
– Statement of interest (max 350 words)

How long is the Fellowship?
The Fellowship period is 10 months.
When and where are Fellowship activities held?
Typically 1-2 half-day Saturday trainings and 1-2 early-morning weekday breakfast seminars are held per month. Events are scheduled outside of work hours so as not to disrupt work obligations or the work day. Fellows must be based in New York, where all programming takes place.
Is it a paid Fellowship?
No, Fellows will not be paid. The Fellowship is an educational program designed to complement the learning that is occurring while individuals are employed as full-time analysts.
Is there an application fee?
No, there is no fee to apply or become a fellow.
Will Fellows be given job offers?
The Fellowship is purely an educational program; there is no promise of employment, although the Fellowship is designed to better position participants to work in the alternative investments sector within a stand-alone firm or an investment bank, after their analyst programs.
Will SEO accept an online printout or pdf Score Report from the College Board?
Yes, SEO will accept an online College Board Score Report printout or a pdf as proof of record. The turnaround time for College Board Score Reports is 4-6 weeks for some applicants. Please be sure to request SAT scores and transcripts sufficiently in advance to ensure delivery to SEO by the time of your interview.
What if my Score Reports or transcript won’t arrive until after the application deadline?
You can still submit an online application. However, these documents must be submitted on or before the day of your in-person interview for your application to be considered complete and your candidacy to remain viable. Do you need “official” or “unofficial” transcripts and Score Reports?
Both are acceptable and can be uploaded into the application but you must bring your official score report to your interview.
What is SEO’s organizational code for scores sent through the College Board?
SEO’s code is 8798.
I only took the ACT, not the SAT. Will be ACT scores be accepted in lieu of SAT scores for Fellowship consideration?
Yes, SEO will consider applicants with only an ACT score.
